Mariko's Missive, Vol. 20 - A Campaign Newsletter for the 8th AD

Talkin’ Turkey on Thanksgiving Day 2008

In a few days, I’ll be leaving Yolo County after ten years, and moving on to the 8th A.D. seat we’ve all worked so hard to win these past two years. What I call “the longest job interview of my life” is now drawing to a close.

As we enter this traditional time of thanksgiving and winter holidays, we take pause to consider all of our blessings—as a nation, as a community, within our families and within ourselves. Even in these very difficult times, I do have hope that by working together, we will make it through.

Thank you for all you’ve done to allow me the privilege of serving in the California Legislature. I’m grateful for the encouragement, dedication, and spirit of our supporters, friends and family. I am anxious to get-to-work and pledge to do my best for you.

On behalf of the Yamada for Assembly 2008 campaign, Happy Thanksgiving and the Best in 2009!

Sincerely,

Mariko

Please Join Mariko for a Capitol Open House, Monday, December 1, 2008, Room 4139

At noon on Monday, December 1, 2008, Mariko will take the Oath of Office on the Assembly Floor. With all 120 members of the California Legislature being sworn-in simultaneously, we regret that Assembly Gallery seating that day is restricted to immediate family.

Please visit Mariko’s new Capitol Office, Room 4139 for light refreshments beginning at 11:30 a.m., and watch the proceedings on closed-circuit Assembly television. Visitors may also proceed to the Jesse Unruh Committee Hearing Room 4202 or watch on screens mounted throughout the Capitol for live-viewing. Guests are advised to arrive early to find parking, get through security, and share the elevators that are likely to be crowded…

See you soon!
